Staffetta. Back to the demonstration

How we handle your data

The short version

  • The demonstration page sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from any other website — no fonts, no trackers, no advertising pixels.
  • Everything you click, switch or configure on the page stays in your own browser, on your own device.
  • There is one exception, and only one: if you were given a link that opens the short survey and you answer it, those answers are sent to us. Nothing else on the page is ever sent anywhere.
  • We do not sell data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not add anyone to a marketing list.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller for the data described here is [Company name], a company registered in [country of registration] under company number [company number], with its registered office at [registered address], trading as Staffetta.

For anything to do with this notice or your data, write to hello@staffetta.io.

2. What this page is

staffetta.io hosts an interactive demonstration of the Staffetta product. The shipment, the retailer, the courier and the sensor readings shown in it are illustrative. No claim on that page describes a live deployment, and none of the data shown belongs to a real consignment or a real person.

3. What we deliberately do not do

The other pages on staffetta.io — the home page and the page for builders and AI agents — collect nothing and send nothing. Their styling, fonts and code are served from staffetta.io itself, and the only thing they keep is the same light/dark choice described in section 4, stored in your own browser.

The demonstration page is a single self-contained file. Its content, styling and code are embedded in the page itself, which means:

There are two unavoidable exceptions, both involving our web host, Netlify. Like every web server, it necessarily receives your IP address and browser user-agent in order to send you the page at all; those server logs are retained by Netlify for [retention period] and are used only to keep the site running and secure. Netlify also serves a small badge script from staffetta.io alongside the page. It is delivered from our own domain, it sets no cookie, and it does not report your visit to any other company.

4. What is stored in your browser

The page remembers a few things between visits so you do not have to set them up again. This uses your browser's local storage, not cookies. It is stored on your device only, it is never transmitted to us, and it is not readable by any other website.

WhatWhyHow long
staffetta:config — display preferences such as light or dark mode, the chosen scenario, and, if you are presenting, the example retailer name, product, currency and order value you typed in So the page opens the way you left it Until you clear it
staffetta:responses — survey answers collected on that device So someone presenting the demonstration can review and export the answers they have gathered Until deleted

You can remove both at any time by clearing site data for staffetta.io in your browser settings. Anyone presenting the demonstration can also clear the stored responses from the presenter panel on the page itself.

5. The survey — the only thing that is sent to us

The survey does not appear on the public page. It is switched on only for links we hand out deliberately (a link containing ?survey=1). If you have not been given such a link, no survey exists on the page and nothing is submitted.

What is collected

If you do answer it, the following is sent to us when you finish, or when you close or leave the page having answered at least one question:

We do not ask for your name, your address, your phone number or your payment details, and the page has no field to enter them.

When it is sent, in plain terms. Your answers are transmitted once you have given at least one of them and you then either finish the survey or leave the page — including by switching to another browser tab. We do it that way so that a partly finished answer is not lost. If you would rather send nothing at all, close the page without answering anything: an untouched survey is never submitted.

Why we are allowed to do this

Your consent, given by answering voluntarily and, for your email address, by ticking the box beside it. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hello@staffetta.io — withdrawing does not affect anything we did with it beforehand.

What we use it for

Only to understand whether the product is worth building and how it should be priced, and — if you gave us an email — to reply to you about Staffetta. We do not add survey emails to a marketing list and we do not pass them to anyone else.

Who processes it on our behalf

Survey responses are delivered to us through Formspree, a form-handling service acting as our processor. Formspree stores submission data with Amazon Web Services in the United States and states that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a processor for transfers out of the EEA and UK. From there the response reaches our Google Workspace mailbox. Nobody else receives it.

How long we keep it

Survey responses are kept for [retention period, e.g. 24 months] from the date they are submitted, after which they are deleted or irreversibly aggregated so that no individual response can be identified. An email address given for a reply is deleted as soon as the conversation it relates to is over, or on request.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask us to:

Email hello@staffetta.io and we will respond within one month. Because the survey does not collect your name, please quote the email address you gave, or tell us roughly when you answered, so we can find the right record — and be aware that if you gave us no email address at all, a response may not be traceable to you, in which case we cannot act on a request without more information.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es); in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Children

The demonstration is aimed at retailers, carriers, technology partners and investors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

8. Reporting a security problem

If you believe you have found a security or privacy fault in this site, please tell us at hello@staffetta.io. Our contact details are also published at /.well-known/security.txt. We would rather be corrected early than believed politely.

9. Changes to this notice

If the page starts doing something different with data, this notice changes on the same day and the date at the top is updated. We do not make changes retroactively.
