Every handoff, on the record

Independent proof of what happened to a parcel.

When a customer says “it never arrived”, retailers today have only the carrier’s word for it. Staffetta puts a small smart label in the parcel and keeps a tamper-evident record of where it was seen along the way, so disputes are settled on evidence, not guesswork.

Retailers, insurers, payment platforms and AI agents all check the same record, and nobody in the delivery, including us, can quietly change it.

Staffetta is in development. The demo uses illustrative data, and nothing on this site describes a live deployment.

How it works

Three steps, with no readers to install.

1A smart label goes in the parcel

Thin and disposable, added at packing.

2Existing networks spot it along the way

Everyday Bluetooth gateways such as phones, routers and vehicles, or cellular for high-value shipments.

3Every sighting is sealed into one record

Each one is time-stamped, placed near a known location and added to a log nobody can secretly edit. Retailers, insurers and AI agents read the same facts.

The gap in every delivery dispute

68%

of UK consumers had a delivery problem in the past six months. 26% had a parcel left in an inappropriate location.

50%

of contested chargebacks are won by the merchant, on average. A coin toss, because neither side has evidence it can prove.

When the carrier records “delivered” and the customer records “not received”, nothing in the file tells the two apart. Staffetta adds the missing evidence.

Where do you come in?

One record, read three ways.

Retailers & carriers

Settle “it never arrived” on evidence

Walk through a failed delivery and see how the record — and the agent watching it — resolves the case before it reaches your queue. Or open the scenario closest to your problem:

Builders & AI agents

Build on a record you can verify Early access

Insurers, payment and chargeback tools, marketplaces and the agents that act for shoppers and retailers all need the same thing: a conclusion about a shipment they can act on, and the evidence to check it.

Partners & investors

Network, label, carrier and capital partners

We make no hardware and run no network. We work with sensing providers without exclusivity, and with carriers as a neutral layer rather than a replacement.

What it changes for each side of a delivery

One record that the shopper sees, the retailer relies on and the carrier stands behind.

For shoppers

You approve; the agent does the chasing

If something goes wrong, the agent checks what actually happened, drafts the message to the retailer with the proof attached, and waits for you. You read it, edit it if you want, and approve. Nothing is sent until you do.

For retailers

Fewer refunds on “it never arrived”

Disputes are settled on verified evidence, and fewer “where is my order” tickets reach your team. When a case does need a person, it arrives as a ready-made package: expected versus actual transit, last scan, condition data and exactly what is being asked.

For couriers & carriers

Not blamed for someone else’s leg

A neutral record of every handoff shows where damage or delay actually happened. The agent also flags a shipment drifting off its normal pattern early, before it becomes a full lost-parcel claim.

What makes the record worth relying on

Four commitments, built into how a record is made rather than promised on top of it.

01Neutral

No carrier, retailer or sensor vendor owns the record, and none of them can edit it. It works with any sensing method — and, at a basic level, with none: carrier feeds and signed handoff confirmations go into the same format.

02Verifiable

Each handoff is signed where it is observed and added to an append-only log. Change one entry afterwards and the chain shows it. You can try to break it yourself.

03Honest about its limits

Every record says what it proves and what it does not. A tag seen by a gateway at the address is presence near that address, not a measured distance to the door — and the record says so.

04Nobody controls the evidence alone

No single sensor maker, network or carrier can hold, edit or switch off the record. Staffetta is built to work with several of each, without exclusivity.

For network and label partners

We make your network and labels worth more.
